"I joined the Assist group in June 2004 as Branch Administrator at the Northwich Branch.
In late 2005 with other internal promotions within the branch I was approached regarding the position of Trainee Recruitment Consultant - my role as Administrator had given me an insight in to recruitment so of course
I bit their hands off! I settled
into my new role as a fully
fledged Recruitment
Consultant and worked hard
to get sales, sales, sales!
I was later seconded into being
the Branch Controller. During
this time the branch was
performing very well, therefore
this secondment became my
full time role. I had the
opportunity to work alongside
great people and learn different techniques and feel I have taken a little from each to adapt my own style.
Within six Months I was promoted to Branch Manager and also won Employee of the Year in 2007!
My role has seen me build and stabilise the team here at Northwich, which was a long process, but I now have a settled team whom I enjoy working with (and hopefully they would say the same!)
Without a company like Assist, I would not have been given such massive opportunities. I now use my progression as an example to new candidates whom I recruit, that the Assist group will invest time and money in people if they show potential and willingness to grasp the opportunities they are offered."
"I began working for Streetcare as a Grounds Maintenance Operative back in April 2003. In March 2004 I was able to secure a position in the Liverpool operations department, where I worked on a Scottish Power contract, maintaining sub stations across the North West of England.
In April 2005 I was promoted to a team leader. I was responsible for a team maintaining the grounds of 40 Travelodge sites between Bangor in North Wales and Inverness in Scotland, this role gave me a good insight into supervision and encouraged me to progress further within the company.
In September 2006 I applied for an internal vacancy as a contract supervisor working a street cleansing contract in Liverpool City. I was successful with my application and began the job in October 2006. When the Liverpool contract doubled in size in May / June 2007 I became the manager of the contract which was worth over £1m per annum.
My responsibilities involved managing between 35 and 40 staff working on streetscene, graffiti removal, street washing, and highway gritting.
Since May 2008 I have been working within the Assist Academy, helping to restructure and grow the business.
Throughout my time working throughout the Assist group I have always been presented with exciting opportunities to progress."
